More About Dylan

My name is Dylan. I'm a bit of a rolling stone, an enigma not easily defined by labels like lap cat or working cat. I've been bounced around after losing my home a couple of years ago when my owner died. I was taken in, but I didn't like the other cats living there. Eventually, I was brought here to the Bucks County SPCA. I hissed and swatted and kept everyone at paw's length. But the staff here are relentless! They noticed I would chill out after they left me to myself for a few days. I couldn't help but soften up and beg for a few good scratches. But being around the other cats here got me all riled up again. Thankfully, they moved me to a private corner office with plenty of windowsills to sit in. Even that transition was tough, and I showed my disdain for anyone who approached me. Then an amazing thing happened. The person who works in my office patiently let me warm up to her at my own speed. She gets me. Eventually, I decided she was safe enough to give me some scritches on my chin. It wasn't long before I decided to grace her with my full presence and I curled up in her lap. I love being with her. I still don't like it when other people come to visit and loud noises can startle me, but hanging out in my corner office has helped me learn to love again!

As much as the staff here adore me and my big personality, they think I am ready to find a new home of my own. They say I will do best with a cat-savvy adopter with no kids and no cats at home. They also want you to know that I am smart (I figured out how to open the office door!) and I thrive on routine, so please feed me on a schedule. I'm sure it will take me some time to get over the transition to your home, but with a little patience and love, I can be all yours.

To help Dylan succeed, a manager will handle his adoption process. Visit our Quakertown Shelter (no appointment required) or call 267-347-4674 if you have questions.
