- Every animal receives a thorough veterinary exam while in our care.
- Animals are re-examined as needed so we can give you a more complete medical history.
- Dogs, cats, and rabbits are spayed or neutered and microchipped before adoption.
- Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on heartworm and flea preventives, and vaccinated.
- Cats are tested for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus) and/or FELV (Feline leukemia virus) as well as being vaccinated, and treated for fleas and other parasites.
- Other animal species receive appropriate exams and care—from hoof-trimming to teeth checks.
- Animals receive a behavior assessment which helps us develop enrichment plans to meet their needs during their shelter stay and make recommendations for their best placement options.

We offer same day-adoptions for most animals and allow you to place a 24-hour hold if you need to get supplies or prepare you home for your new pet. No waiting, no home visits, no lengthy applications! Our two animal shelters are friendly and welcome places. Our staff are here to support you and help you find the best fit. We stand behind every adoption with a full money-back guarantee for the first 60 days of ownership. After that time, you can still return a pet for any reason at all, but there is no refund. Our return rate of adopted pets within 60 days averages only 4%! We always accept our shelter animals back should your situation change in the future.
Adopters (and all Bucks County residents) have access to free animal behavior advice from our Director of Animal Behavior, Eleasha Gall. She is a certified trainer with more than 25 years of experience. Eleasha can help you better understand their pet and provides practical professional advise to address problem behaviors. We are not a part of nor do we receive money from the ASPCA in New York, or the PSPCA.
